Spiritual Gangster Part 2

I hope everyone had a super week😍

What I love about this second synagogue/ any special occasion look is that it's a refreshing departure from my usual sharp, black, edgier style. It's always nice to throw yourself a curveball every so often. And it reminds me I have range. Which then reminds me of my versatility in other areas as well. Which in turn makes me smile😄. There's just no reason to ever be one dimensional and predictable in any way. Every single minute we are breathing we have a chance to be/do/act/think/feel/speak differently. Don't ever resign yourself to just one way of being.

But I digress... Back to "Carmen Sandiego". This emerald green silk butterfly shirt is crisp, since it's a button down, yet whimsical. It reminds me of a vintage shirt from the 70's. It's from J Crew, honestly the best source for a cool button down. The rich emerald green has inherent gravity, which is a great balance to the feminine butterfly pattern, a requirement for me since I'm definitely not a girly Madame Butterfly type.

The burgundy pleated leather skirt is also from J Crew. It's one of my favorite pieces, again reminding me of 70's chic. Gray tights peeking out of deep yellow Sergio Rossi platform sandals. I love how it's now deemed acceptable to have stockinged feet poking out of a seeming Spring shoe! It's always cool looking.  The great thing about this outfit, is that it transitions so well throughout the year.  Lose the tights in spring and summer.  The gold band on the hat works in tandem with the shoes.   Completing the rich Fall/Winter color scheme is this fab navy Eugenia Kim hat from Five Story, my fave NYC boutique.

Finishing off this retro look is, naturally, a few vintage necklaces. Modern jewelry would not be right here. There are a lot of colors and textures here, and a bold pattern, so any additional accessories have to be quietly complimentary. Otherwise it can look costume ish. Which we never want. I'd throw on a vintage fur vest or coat over this outfit, from the actual decade I keep referring to. Authentic. Mine work since they're in the brown family.  Thank you,Bubbie😘. I indeed felt like a Lady of the Lord in this look. Ready, set, go. To Shul.
