Vesuvius that is Christina, this is a recipe for perfection. This song gets me just as excited now as when I first heard it. Every time.

Each vocalist is so strong in her own right, but the crawl leading up to the Christina crescendo teases us and strings us along for the promise of something AWESOME around the corner. Just like a French "lady of the night" should do😉. Moulin Rouge is such a fantastic movie. It was so interesting and layered. It was a brilliant fusion of pop culture spanning the ages. Everything was tied together in the way only director Baz Lhurman can do it. Same with this song, it's a remake of the 70's disco classic, maximized by a thousand. And the video was beyond. It's such a shame we don't have videos like we used to. Such a shame. It made certain songs like mini pieces of theater.
There's something about this song that just makes you own being a woman, despite the prostitution theme, a seemingly paradoxical concept. Their chosen profession is somehow irrelevant. They're just "four badass chicks from the Moulin Rouge". Nuff said. Missy Elliot can tell me what to do any day of the week.
