Read MoreI connect to prayer very deeply. I both enjoy and believe in it. It is such an important tool in living a grateful existence.
Read MoreEvery morning there is a quick prayer I say with my kids. I'm well aware how grossly self-righteous that sounds, but it's true. On the drive to school we say both the Hebrew and English versions. In Hebrew it's "Modeh Ani..." which basically translates into expressing our utmost gratitude to God for returning our bodies to our souls, thus granting us life for one more day.

Read MoreI'm pretty sure I first heard this term used in the Sweet Valley high book series of 80's fame. They could not print those books fast enough for Jewish, sequestered me.
Read MoreLet's talk for a bit about an unexpected LB topic, MMA,or Mixed Martial Arts.
Read MoreI feel very grateful to have been born into a religion that is very much based on gratitude.
Read MoreThis is a very emotional post for me to write, since it involves meeting an idol of mine, the formidable fashion icon, Norma Kamali.
Read MoreI'm grateful for the grateful side of me. I think, and hope, that I'm a person who genuinely is able to express thankfulness. Yes, one can train themselves to mechanically say "thank you", and that's fine up to a point, but when it really comes from the heart, and that feeling of true appreciation allows you to connect with someone else, it is magical.

Read MoreOn this particular visit to Israel, this day was easily my favorite. The high salt content in the water causes true buoyancy. It's so much fun to float! Body and spirit are literally and symbolically lifted. The insanely rich amount of minerals in the water does magic for the skin. It actually really heals.
Read MoreWhen we like or purchase items with slogans on them, it's because on some level we agree with what's being said. It's as if we are using the shirt or the bag to speak for us, but it's a weird crutch. It's like “hey man, I bought something that says "Badass", so I MUST be one!!”
Read MoreSo I'm on this feverish kick not only to live life to the fullest, but to document it. Having been so shaken to the core by my Mother in Law's untimely passing, I am furiously making and capturing memories for myself and my family. I wish we had more of her life on record. It's a mix of trying to squeeze as much as possible out of the present, while securing our emotional future. As morose as it sounds, there is no way around us simply not knowing how much time we have. We cannot control the length of our lives, though we try so very hard, but we can absolutely control the quality. Hey, I'm too much of a New York Jew to not obsess about death.
